Orquestra XXI's first venture into opera was a semi-staged production of Claude Debussy's Pelleés et Mélisande. The first performance of this opera in Lisbon in 50 years, this production was directed by Kristiina Helin and featured an international cast and Portuguese singers in the leading roles.
